About Us

The Ricciardi Family has decades of experience in the hospitality industry. For three generations, we have had the privilege to provide the Waterbury area with exceptional cuisine, service, and countless memorable moments.

While owners of Amici’s Restaurant, husband and wife team George Ricciardi, Sr. and Margo Ricciardi provided Waterbury locals with a casual place to have a drink and outstanding homemade dishes. The couple also owned Backstage Dance Bar and brought a premier night life experience to the Brass City showcasing the era’s top entertainers including famous DJs, bands, and comedians.

The Ricciardi’s then went on to open The Grand Oak Villa (GOV) in Watertown, CT with partner Rocco Battaglia. The Grand Oak Villa was a 600 person banquet facility that also boasted an outdoor pavilion, The Grove. While at the GOV, the Ricciardi’s are proud to have hosted countless community events and fundraisers in addition to the memorable weddings and other special occasions they were known for.  It is often joked (and not far from the truth) that The Ricciardis can’t go one day with out running into someone who hosted their wedding receptionist GOV! All these years later, their clients are still thanking them for making their wedding day memorable.

George Sr. and Margo brought their son, George Ricciardi Jr., onto the team and opened The Hills Restaurant. The Hills Restaurant was a full-service restaurant, lounge, and banquet facility located on Western Hills Golf Course in Waterbury, CT. With hard work, sacrifice, and the support of a wonderful community, the Ricciardi’s succeeded in making The Hills a top restaurant in the city, a popular private event location, and a well-known caterer throughout the state of CT. The Ricciardi’s are extremely proud of the positive reputation they earned for their business, as well as the positive impact they made on Western Hills Golf Course’s image and facilities.

After 15 wonderful years, The Hills Restaurant was not able to renew it’s lease on the city-owned building and closed the restaurant and banquet facility on February 1, 2015.

The Hills will still be offering complete off-site catering service for any occasion. The Ricciardi’s also hope to soon find another business opportunity so they can continue to serve the Waterbury community they call home.
